JOB DESCRIPTION:
– We are in search of an experienced and qualified Industrial
Maintenance Mechanic/Technician.
– Under limited supervision, plans and performs assigned preventive
maintenance and work on all plant and building equipment to ensure
productive and efficient plant operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
– With guidance from the Chief Engineer, plans and implements
preventive maintenance programs.
– Schedules inspections and major overhauls in coordination with other
operating activities.
– Maintains logs and written records of preventive maintenance programs
and accurately records all parts replaced.
– Assists Chief Engineer in assigning maintenance responsibility of
particular zones to specific technicians and follows up on progress.
– Assists Chief Engineer in controlling time and quality of work of
employees with daily work records.
– Inspects disassembled or malfunctioning machinery to determine cause
of trouble and type of repairs required.
– Reviews technical papers, catalogs and other reference materials and
confers with equipment suppliers to select and recommend new supplies
and maintenance methods to improve plant operations.
– Acts as an advisor in the proper equipment and work-aid selection to
accomplish the performance of all tasks within the plant in the most
cost-effective manner.
– Inspects and observes progress of work on major overhauls to evaluate
efficiency and workmanship.
– Under direction of Chief Engineer, assists in implementation of required
safety procedures as they pertain to equipment and its use.
– Serves as a member of Safety Committee and supervises day-to-day
maintenance practices to ensure OSHA compliance.
– Instructs all mechanics in proper techniques and procedures of
maintenance of all types of equipment. Follow up to ensure compliance.
– Responsible for maintaining adequate inventories of machine parts and
supplies and ensuring that all parts and supplies are in good operating
condition.
– Responsible for air, noise and other miscellaneous pollution abatement and
control in accordance with existing industry and OSHA guidelines.
– Performs other tasks and special duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
– Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
– Programmable Logic Controllers: 1 year (Preferred)
– Maintenance and Electrical: 5 years (Required)
– Electronic troubleshooting of electrical input and output based on schematic
– 5+ years related experience in a similar environment
– Familiarity with OSHA standards and guidelines
– Excellent record keeping, attention to detail and communication skills
– Strong written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work well with superiors, co-workers and subordinates
– Self-motivated

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
– Employees frequently work in a commercial laundry facility with a heavy
amount of noise and activity.

of noise and activity.
