Company :

– A leading manufacturer and innovator in the agricultural equipment
industry. The company is dedicated to designing and manufacturing state-of-the-art
machinery.

Summary :

– We are seeking a detail oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager to
lead our procurement function for our agricultural equipment operations.
– The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing quality
components and managing supplier relationships. In addition, the manager will negotiate contracts and ensure cost-effectiveness.
– This role is key in ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials. These materials must
meet engineering specifications and production demands.

Key Responsibilities :

– Develop, implement, and manage purchasing strategies aligned with
company objectives.
– Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, mechanical components,
fabrication services, and outsourced assemblies specific to ag equipment.
– Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve best value. Meanwhile, maintain quality and delivery standards.
– Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure
purchased components meet technical specifications.
– Maintain accurate inventory levels in coordination with production needs
and forecasts.
– Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues. In addition, develop corrective
action plans.
– Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier consolidation,
alternative sourcing, and process improvements.
– Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and regulatory
requirements.
– Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage purchasing activities and purchase
orders. These systems should also manage inventory transactions.
– Prepare regular reports on key performance metrics, including cost, quality,
and on-time delivery.

Qualifications :

– Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
(highly preferred).
– 5+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management in a
manufacturing environment, preferably ag equipment or heavy machinery.
– Strong knowledge of mechanical components, steel fabrication, hydraulics,
and commodity materials.
– Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
– Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
– Ability to read technical drawings and understand engineering requirements.
– Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

– CPM certification.
– Experience in ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing operations.
– Experience in lean manufacturing or just-in-time inventory systems.
– Familiarity with international sourcing and logistics.

Work Environment :

– This is a hybrid remote position that will operate out of both Manteca and
Gridley locations.
– This position is combined indoor and outdoor settings which includes exposure
to hot work, chemicals, paints, and higher temperatures for brief periods.
– Time in the field includes being exposed to the outdoors, other office settings,
dirt, noise, uneven surfaces, and excessive heat or cold.
